2024 End of Year Update
Without the incredible generosity of so many of you, this work wouldn't be possible. Thank you for your continued support throughout 2024!
This year the women of Why Not Now Missions sold 304 baskets, saved 18,240 plastic bags from going into the landfill, and earned $7,120 with every penny going straight into their pockets. The women attended 16 farmer's markets and holiday markets throughout the year - most of them on their own! To date, the artisans have sold 1,590 baskets, earned $35,012 and have saved 96,900 plastic bags from the landfill.
Early in 2024, many of you donated to help a young Kurdish woman finally get her citizenship. She has since then graduated from UW-Stevens Point and is currently working at an insurance company for her first job out of college. If she didn't have her citizenship by the time she graduated, she wouldn't have been hired. Thank you for investing in her future.
We also provided local refugee families with diapers, wipes, and school supplies this year. Thank you to everyone who made specific donations towards those items.
In Nepal, we paid the yearly tuition fees for one student in college totaling $850. It's a huge achievement to reach this level of higher education in Nepal and we continue to be amazed by this young student.
As always, we cannot thank you enough for your generosity and continued belief in our mission. Since we have started the work of Why Not Now Missions, we have received over $99,202 in both cash and in-kind donations that have supported Nepalese students and local refugees in numerous ways. Thank you for your unwavering generosity and support.
